Structuro-elasto-plasticity model for large deformation of disordered solids

چکیده
Elastoplastic lattice models for the response of solids to large-scale deformation typically incorporate structure only implicitly via a local yield strain that is assigned each site. However, can change in nearby or even distant plastic event system. This interplay key understanding phenomena such as avalanches which one trigger another, leading cascade events, but neglected elastoplastic models. To include could calculate given particulate system and follow its evolution, this expensive requires knowledge particle interactions aren't necessarily pairwise additive possible extract from experiments. Instead, we use structural quantity, ``softness,'' obtained using machine learning correlate with imminent rearrangements. We show softness correlates it construct ``structuro-elasto-plasticity'' model reproduces simulation results reasonably well several observable quantities, confirming capture influence structure, plasticity, elasticity on material response.

Insight into a model for large strain anisotropic elasto-plasticity
Efficient and accurate simulation of the deformations in anisotropic metallic sheets requires a constitutive model and an accompanying algorithm at large strains which take into account the anisotropy of both the elastic and plastic material behaviors, as well as their evolution with plastic strains. Recently we proposed such a constitutive model based on continuum energy considerations, the Le...

Both isotropic and anisotropic material behaviour is considered. so that som...
متن کاملImplicit Integration for Particle-based Simulation of Elasto-Plastic Solids
We present a novel particle-based method for stable simulation of elasto-plastic materials. The main contribution of our method is an implicit numerical integrator, using a physically-based model, for computing particles that undergo both elastic and plastic deformations. The main advantage of our implicit integrator is that it allows the use of large time steps while still preserving stable an...

A methodology for computationally efficient formulation of the tangent stiffness matrix consistent with incrementally objective algorithms for integrating finite deformation kinematics and with closest point projection algorithms for integrating material response is developed in the context of finite deformation plasticity. Numerical experiments illustrate an excellent performance of the propos...
متن کاملA Model for Deformation and Fragmentation in Crushable Brittle Solids
A unified framework of continuum elasticity, inelasticity, damage mechanics, and fragmentation in crushable solid materials is presented. A free energy function accounts for thermodynamics of elastic deformation and damage, and thermodynamically admissible kinetic relations are given for inelastic rates (i.e., irreversible strain and damage evolution). The model is further specialized to study ...
